The SuperMicron Monitoring System is installed at a plant equipped with 1,844 m long steel penstocks for hydroelectric use, located in the Aosta Valley (Perreres). The plant was built in 1943 and is currently in regular operation. The monitoring system is designed to support operators in the safe management of an ageing plant and to provide early warning in the event of unexpected structural behaviour. The monitoring data is displayed via dedicated software, which also allows for the remote configuration of sensors and alarm thresholds. Data processing and analysis can also be carried out using third-party software.
Currently, the SuperMicron Monitoring System provides an in-depth understanding of pipeline behaviour over time and valuable insights into the potential onset of structural issues.
